PRP for Intimate Rejuvenation

PRP (platelet Rich plasma) can be used to rejuvenate the face and skin, to encourage hair growth and also to improve vaginal/vulval/urinary & penile function. For women it will improve many symptoms associated with the menopause and childbirth, such as, stress incontinence, episiotomy scar pain, vaginal dryness, painful sex, lack of orgasm. In men it will help to improve sexual function by improving the ability to obtain and maintain a firmer erection and the ability to orgasm.

During a PRP Therapy treatment, a small amount of your blood is taken from you into a sterile tube just like a standard blood test. The tube containing your blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun to separate the plasma and platelets from the other blood components.

Then the PRP layer is removed from the same tube and re-introduced into the body at the site to be treated. Using a small sterile needle, your practitioner will inject the PRP in and around the desired site. For more information see below or to book a consultation contact us on

For Women

Childbirth, menopause, ageing and other natural factors change the health and anatomy of womens vulva, urethra & vagina. The resulting effects ( vaginal laxity, tightening, dryness, painful sex, vaginal shrinking, stress incontinence etc ) fundamentally changes the lives of women in a way that is often very difficult to share and discuss even with your partner or the closest of friends let alone the GP. So women often put up with the symptoms, avoiding certain activities, such as exercising or having sex & suffer in silence.

Stress incontinence occurs when urine leaks because there is a sudden extra pressure within the abdomen and on the bladder. This pressure (or stress) may be caused by every day activities such as coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising (such as running or jumping). Small amounts of urine may leak but sometimes it can be quite a lot and it may cause embarrassment. A third of women will have a degree of stress incontinence after childbirth and this increases with the menopause.

During the menopause a reduction in oestrogen leads to vaginal dryness and shrinking. Women may start to find that sex becomes painful and even having a routine smear can be very difficult. The reduction in hormones also affects vaginal pH leading to an increase in the overgrowth of normal bacteria which can lead to vulval/vaginal irritation. As we age the labia (outside the vagina) also appear to shrink and diminish, which some women find distressing.

Platelet Rich Plasma treatment promotes blood supply, production of growth hormones & healing to strengthen the area. This then helps to prevent the urinary leakage, vaginal discomfort & painful sex. PRP to the labia can be used to increase collagen production, returning the area to plumpness.

Women receiving the treatment report the following improvements after vaginal PRP:

  • Improvement of stress incontinence

  • Able to carry out daily activities, such as laughing or exercising, without the worry of urinary leakage

  • More comfortable sex and able to enjoy sex again

  • Decrease in vaginal and vulval irritation

  • Decrease in vaginal infections

  • Increased sensitivity and increased ability to orgasm.

  • Plump and more youthful appearance of labia after labial PRP

The treatment consists of taking a sample of your blood, spinning it in a machine to obtain the platelets, then injecting the platelets into the area between the bladder & the vagina. Only two injections are needed & numbing cream is used beforehand to reduce discomfort.

While responses to treatment vary, most people will require one session, which usually lasts 6-12 months. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can have, some patients find repeat treatments every 3-6 months very beneficial.

For Men

Did you know that Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can help to improve sexual function, including the ability to orgasm. It is sometimes also known as the ‘P-Shot’ and is a relatively new treatment.

Most men occasionally fail to get or keep an erection. This is usually caused by stress, tiredness, anxiety or drinking too much alcohol, and it's nothing to worry about. If it happens more often, it may be caused by physical or emotional problems.

Erectile dysfunction is common in men over 40 years old, with approximately 40 percent being affected to some degree. Despite it being a very common problem  men often find it difficult to discuss with their partner, friends or GP. It is common to then avoid having sex, often causing relationship difficulties.

PRP treatment promotes blood supply, production of growth hormones & healing to strengthen the area.

Men receiving the treatment report the following improvements after penile PRP:

  • Easier to achieve and maintain erections (i.e., improved sexual stamina)

  • Stronger, firmer erections

  • Increased penile length and girth in some cases

  • Improvement in or resolution of penile curvature from Peyronie’s Disease

  • Resolution of penile pain with erection

  • Increased sensitivity in the penis and increased ability to orgasm.

  • Better overall blood flow to the penis

The treatment consists of taking a sample of your blood, spinning it in a machine to obtain the platelets, then injecting the platelets into each side of the penis. Only two injections are needed & numbing cream is used beforehand to reduce discomfort.

While responses to treatment vary, most people will require one session, which usually lasts 6-12 months. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can have, some patients find repeat treatments every 3-6 months very beneficial.
